Can't seem to connect to the Dev server. I get "server disconnected for unknown reason" error.

Yes… you need to use a client built from current git master at present. I'll see if I can fix this up in time for the dev game tomorrow.
Debian and Ubuntu packages (squeeze, wheezy, sid; 12.04, 12.10, 13.04) may work on derivatives
