Hovel was removed because grangers need escape the base in case of emergency rather than stay in it. What about adding legs to hovel? Hovel should run faster than granger, but shouldn't be able to wallwalk.

So it's a granger with more health that can't build?

Re: Idea: Walking hovel
I'm pretty sure the hovel was removed because it was a free cade, being obscure to the team as well as the glitch problem.
The glitch problem is solved in many qvms though,
It being a free buildable was the developer's choice (check the 1.1 changelog)
and it being obscuring is the granger's choice.
It also prevented luci jumpers in 1.1 that love taking shortcuts through the side in atcs.
Maybe the hovel could be a human-eater? Eats every human but bsuits. One every 10 seconds. A possible animation could be similar to how Gluttony eats when he rages in Full Metal Alchemist... lol

Re: Idea: Walking hovel
- Make it cost 10 BP.
- Allow multiple hovels.
- Hovel should run as fast as dretch, but shouldn't be able to wallwalk.
- Granger should be still able to spit from the hovel.
- Once detached from creep, hovel will start to lose health. When it loses all of it, it'll die.
- Hovel can be reattached to the creep and can regain health it lost.

Where would the hovel go if it can walk?

It is controlled by the granger inside it. When there's no granger inside, it stands still or attaches itself to creep if available.

So it's an armor for the granger! Ingenuous!
