How can I uninstall Unvanquished?

Post by Kane »

Hi!

Yesterday I read about Unvanquished and decided to install it, because it sounded interesting and the Screenshots look pretty cool. After installing it I remarked that it is a Multiplayer-Game which has to be played via the web. Unfortunally this Information can't be found on the Download-Page. My Internet-Connection is verry slow and I don't like Multiplayer-Games, so I want to totally uninstall Unvanquished. But it seems to have no Functionality for that. Even in the List of Programs ("uninstall or change") it does'nt appear.

So, can somebody please tell me how I can uninstall Unvanquished?

My OS is Windows 7 64 Bit. I installed Unvanquished 0.20, the whole Package.

Hope my English is good enough to be understood. Many Thanx beforehand,
Kane

There should be an uninstaller if you used the web installer. Otherwise, you can just delete the following directories:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Unvanquished
%APPDATA%\Daemon

Hi!

At first, thanx for the quick answers!

To ishq: there is no Uninstaller. Not in the Direction I installed the Software in and not on other places on my Computer, as far as I can see. And, as I allready said, the Program is'nt even listed under the Programs in the Windows-Client for Uninstalling and changing Programs. I visited the Wiki because of the Problem and found the following notice: "As of 2012-05-14, there is no supplied uninstall script. For now, you can make one yourself on your own, or you can follow the CMake "make uninstall" documentation. " But I think this is only for LINUX-Users.

To kharnov: I downloaded the Exe-Installer from Sourceforge.net. I was a little bit suprised that it was such a small file, but after executing it this Mystery was solved - it was a Web-Installer. And it really took a while. Almost an hour or maybe more.

Anyway, I can start the Program. I did'nt try playing, but all seams to be okay so far. Only the Uninstaller is missing.

Maybe it would be the best to use the Systemrecovery.

Best wishes,
Kane

Trust me. I can run unvanquished on capped internet without lag issues, but my capped internet makes the download process horrendous, sometimes above 20 attempts (sourceforge keeps timing out/disconnecting mid-download)

FYI my capped internet speed average is around 10 kb/s max for my whole system when my brother is at home.
