Create a map (theme/lore inspired by Stargate-SG1, gameplay inspired by LoL)
Work on the WiKi (imho the current state of the WiKi isn't suited to attract new contributors/players/fans)
L-system and Perlin noise features (we discussed that shortly in irc and people found it to be interesting and worthwhile)
1. There's already several maps in tremulous that have a similar theme :P (btw, tremulous (gpp) maps are compatible with unvanquished, for now)
2. Some of the info there is outdated (particularly the alien class statistics such as tyrant charge damage), feel free to help.
3. I've never heard of this before, I'll look it up later...
I'd say that from least to most work, 2, 1, 3. Map making isn't that hard, you just have to know how to use the program (Net/Dark Radiant) and have the patience and creativity to make good maps.
Making quality maps isn't just about knowing how to use a program. It's very difficult.
People said using CAD programs to draw stuff is hard. I use one at school, and the only things I can do on there is draw straight lines and circles (Microstation 95), even in 3D mode (which is a pain to use). It's just knowledge, and creativity/logic, and patience.
I'm a 3D artist and I want to take part in the game creation doing little things for example if is possible. I don't know what I need for start doing something. Please can anybody explains me what I need to do for start doing something?
This is my portfolio, you can find some photos about personal projects. There are some low poly models, environments, animations and there is a specially site for game projects that I've started with other people. The website is not finished.
My goals are get more experience in 3d design for games. I usually use blender with photoshop.
@edu: Cool, if you want to discuss this further, you should hop onto IRC so we can talk to you directly. There is a chatlink on our main page.
@kharnov: He went by Ivancool in all blue.
@Ivancool: Hey, good to see you here. If you remember me, I used to go by Celestial Rage or Solidarity at the time on D*S.
