Re: Re-licensing the wiki (without the non-commercial clause)
I have not been around for a while due to full-time work. I probably won't be around much until I atleast settle in. Routes I see: 1) Find all page authors, ask them if they are ok with a change. Change the whole wiki. 2) Run the wiki on two licences: all old pages retain their current, all new page...

Re: Re-licensing the wiki (without the non-commercial clause)
[*]A printed magazine may even want to distribute a copy of our game, which has already happened . Is that a good thing? I think it is. Technically they disregarded the NC clause on my map but that's not why I added it. They're not financially exploiting our work, they're merely distributing our ga...

Re: Re-licensing the wiki (without the non-commercial clause)
"Game guide" sites could copy+paste wiki content onto them for ad revenue if we drop NC. They would also try and get above the actual unvanquished wiki in search rankings whenever people web-search for unvanquished related information.

Re: Re-licensing the wiki (without the non-commercial clause)
With the engine code my understanding is that it's contributed to under 'Copyright Unvanquished Development'. Presumably this means the engine can be re-licensed by whoever shows they most officially represent 'Unvanquished Development', but how that is actually legally worked out (eg if the dev tea...

Do we encourage this at the moment or is it down to individual authors?

Re-licensing the wiki (without the non-commercial clause)
Our wiki has been licensed under Creative Commons BY NC SA for a long time (forever?). Getting rid of the 'NC' term has some benefits and some of us want to do this. People who have contributed to the wiki have done it under the current/old license. I don't like the idea of changing the whole wiki t...

Thanks cu-kai. Wiki issues Extensions needed Lots of existing pages are broken or missing content without these: Cite Parserfunctions Seeing as the server runs Debian these may have already been installed. You may only need to add the wfLoadExtension() lines. Account creation Kharnov says you are wo...

Re: Suggest some names!
ATCS is indeed an interesting option. I don't know if the original map maker might be offended however.
