Kindly accept my greetings, fine Negros of the Unvanquished community,

Tremulous2 that plans to be the AAA professional tremulous, is going the closed-source and windows-only way.
As discussed there in
http://forum.tremulous2.com/index.php?topic=61.0
http://forum.tremulous2.com/index.php?topic=60.0

Therefore I wanted to ask you, users and developers of Unva related questions:

  • would you have much less work if the product would be windows-only instead of linux mac etc compatible

  • do you think it could make sense to close source this project and earn money

  • do you see any way to have professional development of Unva, meaning, team of highly paid developers and supporters that do fix all the things that need fixing not only code "for fun" without any duty/responsibility to fix all the annoying small bugs and all

  • do you see any way for Unva2 to earn real money

  • would you use Unva if it would be closed-source

  • would you use Unva if it would be payable to use (even basic version, not talking about buying extra stuff or server bonuses or anything)

  • would you use Unva if it would be windows-only

No. We will never involve money in this project. We will permanently remain free and open source.

no linux -> no game for me
closed source -> gpl won't allow that and i can not see any reason to do that.
paid jobs -> i personally have nothing against that, but looks like the guys are against paid jobs and i'm ok with that too

Hmm what you said does not make any sense, was it a typo?
You CAN involve money AND be free and open source 100%.
Example: kickstart (kickstarter.com) an open source free project or other crowdfounding.

I'm pretty sure I didn't make a typo. I said that money will not be involved in the project, and that we will permanently remain free and open source. These are mutually exclusive statements, they are not linked to each other.

We do not want to make money off this project.
