Hello, today I have try to play to unvanquished on my mother's pc who support only openGL2.

So I have try to launch the normal launcher after have modified the opengl version used, but that don't work ;
so I try to launch directly the daemon.i386 and all work nicely, I quit the game (I am alone on the room and the bot are a little stupid ^^), all work nicely.

But when I relaunch the game using daemon.i386 and I try to join a server I have this message :

Sys_LoadDll(ui) found vmMain function at 0xc9437650
Sys_LoadDll(cgame) found vmMain function at 0xbcd49310
WARNING: alphaGen portal keyword not supported in shader 'textures/citadel/fl
are_glow
[21:17] -> Processus arrêté

I can wait for lot of time,
I have a game to program else ^^

Good luck

ps : My english is bad sorry

Try running with +set cl_renderer GL

Does everyone get crashes with the new renderer? If so, why not make GL the default one until the new one is fully stable and whatnot?

When I try that I have :
execing default.cfg
execing profiles/gnales/autogen.cfg
execing profiles/gnales/autoexec.cfg
couldn't exec profiles/gnales/autoexec.cfg
Hunk data failed to allocate 512MB
Hunk data failed to allocate 512MB

I think I wait for beta 0.8 ;)

Some people's hardware isn't optimal for GL3. We'll probably add some automatic mechanism to detect this in the future.

In response to your error, how much RAM do you have? That error means you don't have 512 MiB of RAM free. If you have more than 512 MiB of RAM, try closing some applications and try again.

MY old computer was a Dell Inspiron 6400 and it worked okay, although it used to take so long to load that i'd usually time out before being able to enter the game. Once i entered the game though, it ran faster and smoother than the "new" computer that i use today.
Specs [what i remember]:

Code: Select all

CPU t2400 Duo, although Urban Terror says i had pentium 4 duo...
RAM 504 MB
Video: GM9## something...
Intel Graphics Acceleration [Does nothing with/without anyway] capability

Renderer: GL [GL3 not supported/takes a whole day to open the main menu, even though no rendering is involved i assume...]

I have more than 2Gb on my mother computer and that crash.

Else, when do you think add the auto detection of type of openGL ?

I think I will try to compile unvanquished for see if it work.

So I have compilled the game and I get this error when I try to join a server (this is my log) :
GLSL shaders load time = 0.38 seconds

Sys_LoadDll(ui) found vmMain function at 0x7f32081d8020
8Syscall ABI mismatch
recursive error 'Syscall ABI mismatch' after: Syscall ABI mismatch
OpenAL capture device closed.
------- GLSL_ShutdownGPUShaders -------
recursive error 'Syscall ABI mismatch' after: Syscall ABI mismatch
I have tried to use the window method for fix thaht but that don't work

Same here.

Code: Select all

^8Syscall ABI mismatch
recursive error 'Syscall ABI mismatch' after: Syscall ABI mismatch
Closing SDL audio device…
SDL audio device shut down.

Different though.
EDIT: Turns out 'downloading game data' does not download vm##.pk3. I just had to download it via server/source forge.
