How big should teams be?
What is the ideal team size? Is there a minimum that is considered playable? A maximum?

Hmm usually in scrims there's a minimum of 5v5 (if the other team cannot supply 5 players they forfeit).
In terms of public games I think it can be up to 10v10.
3v3 up to 15v15, for really large maps.
I'm personally a fan of 4v4 scrims myself.
3-10 player per team imo.
I always have the most fun with big matches. 12v12 or more.
I like 5v5 for serious matches and between 8-16 players on each team for public matches, depending on the map size.
I think kharnov hit the naill on this one. I think we should be determining team size in relation to map size. Everything should be scaled upwards to match the map size.

One on one will quickly become unballanced. As soon as the alien evolves to a dragoon the match is basicly over. Also with this you could get the problem of spawn camping.

YES! 8D
I just posted this related idea on the torrent.
It should depend on the size of the map and how cramped you want things to be. Serveradmins should have some say in the matter.
A small map (atcs, tremor) is fine with 3-6 players. a medium map 4-8 (arachnid, niveus) and a large one 5-10 (transit size with less open space). Stupidly large creations, as well as ones with lots of interconnecting passageways and large open spaces, should require 8 + players, (transit) masses of buildpoints, mini maps, and long time limits.
