Some of you are probably aware of the awesome artworks yughues is posting on OpenGameArt all the time:
http://opengameart.org/users/yughues
and much of the textures and map-models would fit well to Unvanquished and would show of the new fancy rendering freatures as they all come with a normal and spec. map.
Yet, I wonder why none of it has shown up in UNV yet...
P.S.: License is CC0 which is basically public domain and thus fully compatible with the Unvanquished art license (e.g. CC-by-SA).

That does seem like a very good source of map props.
On the other hand, it would probably be better to have custom-made map objects. Of course, I can probably just contact that guy, or he can contact us.

As far as I know these are not in use in another project yet... and for textures, plants and simple props it also doesn't really matter that much, right? Of course others might use them too (but in fact could do so with Unvanquished art anyways), but it's not a very visible playermodel or such.
Edit: I suggested to that guy before if he would be interested in contributing to a project and he basically replied that he does the stuff for fun and isn't really interested. But by all means, it would be a waste not to utilize these nice textures and models somehow.

I'm not so sure about "well fitting to unvanquished" in the title. It's more of a mapper's texture source to me rather than fitting well to unvanquished.

The difference is that these are almost game-ready and partially well fitting to the theme of unvanquished.
Anyways... just a suggestion. Maybe some of the props end up in the official mapping SDK from UNV.

@poVoq: yeah, blendswap contains a lot of junk, but there are some finished pretty props
