Unvanquished Natural Selection 2 clan
who all's interested in making an Unvanquished clan in NS2? I play both regularly and I think it'd be cool if more of us did to spread the word about unvanquished. Plus [UNV] makes a cool clan tag
Unvanquished is an open-source FPS game featuring team-based strategy and RTS elements, pitting humans against aliens in a futuristic setting.

Ah, I wouldn't think that's the best idea. NS/Tremulous community members have been at each-other's throats for years now, and I don't think many of them would take kindly to advertising a competing game.

Agreed. Maybe advertise somewhere else, such as erm... TF2?
Playing a game with a clan about a completely different game? I don't follow the logic...

I actually didn't know that, shows how much I know, lol. I just figured they had so much in common that certain skills would cross over, a lot of them definitely dont though.
I met a few people who played NS2 before, they said [as expected] that everything is just a copy of ns2, only a shittier version. They still played, they said something like 'this project has hope in it' though. I havn't seen them ever since, probably due to the lack of players and the "dodgy bots".

Let's take NS2's big, bulky final alien form...
... and let's compare it to our own:
Sorry, but there's just no comparison. I respect our competition, and I'm glad they're putting out a quality product, but I just don't think their alien designs are very intimidating. They have to be some of the least scary aliens I've ever seen in a video game. If I see a tyrant charging at me, I am going to shit myself. It has huge scythe arms, glowing eyes full of hatred, and if I live long enough to see it come up close, terrifying little arms coming out of its chest. Now, try comparing that to the gorilla-rhino-tentacle hybrid in the first image. It just doesn't check out.
Give Unvanquished a few more alpha releases so that we can fully upgrade all of our remaining alien models, and then we'll see about that "shittier version" comment from our detractors. Oh, and we're free. We're produced on a budget of exactly zero dollars. The fact that we can create scary, highly detailed alien models with absolutely no money should give you a pretty good idea of our project's potential.
That's one of my favorite parts of Unvanquished, the alien race is more of a cold blooded arachnid type species, and they handle like they are too. I like both the games just the same, cause of their differences. I just hate how some NS2 people talk down about Unvanquished. I love the free part too, it makes it a way more feasible LAN party game than NS2. My group will definitely be playing unvanquished for many years to come.

I was quoting what they said. Complain to them, not me :D
Trem / Unva naturally wins by being OpenSource.
Btw, Tremulous2 (started by Rotack owner of RCZ UBP trem server) will be not open source :( but should work on linux probably
