I guess thinking things can be simple is a bit naïve, but that doesn't matter. I'm still gonna try Unvanquished some day, when I feel like compiling all those compiling dependencies...
For now, I just wanted to say hi to you all :)

Hello!
There's some .deb's available if you're using a debian/ubuntu system.
Thanks!
It refers to a public key download, though. When I saved it directly, the terminal gave this output:
Code: Select all
~$ sudo apt-key add ./linux-pubkey.gpg
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
After trying this I just clicked the link, which got me to a page with this on it:
Code: Select all
Not Found
The page you requested was not found on this web server.
This could be for a variety of reasons, including:
You followed a broken or out-of-date link.
You entered the URL for the page incorrectly.
The page no longer exists.
If you followed a broken link, please inform the owner of the referring page.
I don't know if you're the owner or not, but at least I'm informing someone.. :p
There were still some download links below, figured I'd give them a shot.
Code: Select all
~$ apt-key add ./linux-pubkey.gpg.asc
gpg: no writable keyring found: eof
gpg: error reading `./linux-pubkey.gpg.asc': general error
gpg: import from `./linux-pubkey.gpg.asc' failed: general error
I also added the line to sources.list, and tried installing anyway.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install unvanquished
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package unvanquished
If this doesn't have a simple solution I just missed, I guess I'll have to move to the Troubleshooting area.
0 = 0
Quod erat demonstrandum.

As root. The ‘#’ prompt should be enough of a give-away; but, just possibly, these days it isn't. :(

You appear to have missed out the ‘apt-get update’ step.
