daemon seems to have some problems with dds files from xonotic (perhaps a bug in the dds loader to fix?), I get that if I convert them to png (note, crn textures converted from dds does not work, I only managed to get something working with png textures converted from dds):

We should write a script that converts xonotic shaders to Unvanquished shaders. I actually had a script planned last night, but it was 3 AM and kinda gave up.

Nice, but normal maps are really lacking. :thumbup:

Particle effects (especially of the weapons) are much nicer in Xonotic also... any chance to have them easily translated into the deamon engine?

I hope that both games can benefit from each other. Perhaps we can port some of Xonotic's particle code as well.

Responsible for: Arch Linux package & torrent distribution, Parpax (map), Chameleon (map texture editor), Sloth (material file generator), gameplay design & programming, artistic direction
