Forums and E-Mail are obsolete

Today is the age of Facebook, E-Mail's only use is Facebook registration and forums are completely obsolete.

There isn't a good replacement for either of these things yet?
"Hey, I'm going to Facebook you that work proposal."
"Let's try to have a long-term and in-depth discussion on Reddit!"
etc.
