New here! Can I help?

Post by Holy Elvindor »

I've played Tremulous a lot as a teen
I'm still a teen, but on college...
Anyway, I have to do a final work on Computer Graphics
I was wondering if there's a model that you may want to be done or anything
BUT
Probably it will be useless as it has to be done in Rhinoceros 4.0

Thanks!

If you can export the model to a .obj file it can be done.
Exporting animation is where the real problem lies though, I think that is something you really have to do in Blender.

Can you show us something you have made before?
We ultimately wish to have models with about the same quality as the Trapper or the Tyrant now.

Hello!

Pretty much what E-Xmp said. Can you show us some of your work? Also, don't worry about the program you use as long as you can export to to the .obj format.

Thanks for the response guys!
I won't be able to animate i guess... this will come in another class (CG2, with blender)
I'll look forward to export as .obj anyway

I understand your preocupations about how it will look
But don't worry, it don't have to be used at all, and probably won't be good enough for your standards
I just want to make something that I enjoy as the final work and ONLY MAYBE useful to this game that I waited so long

Don't have a done work to post here, sorry. But in class I did pretty basic stuff (a shoe, a hammer, a bottle)
Anyway, is there any model you guys haven't worked at all? It would be good to know

We can always use map objects. Lamps, barrels, crates, doors, that sort of thing.

Maybe my teacher think that a crate is "too easy"
Perhaps I'll just try to do a blaster
sorry if I'm bothering more than helping

We've already got the blaster in-game.

You're not bothering us, though. Think of something else you can put in a map. A spaceship, for example? Some more complex container?

Maybe a damaged vehicle of some kind (better damaged, or else, why couldn't one drive it?)
I'll try to sketch some concepts!

Hey, been looking through the forums and am really excited to see this. I used to love Tremulous and wish to help in any way I can.

I have just over 4 years of experience with blender and would like to put some stuff together to see if you would want to use it or not. So kind of similar to Holy Elvindor, if you are willing to look at them and see if they are good for your use, I will take the next week or two and put together some detailed map objects (for right now nothing animated) Would you want me to post pictures of them or just send the .obj files?
