A look at the female soldier

Did you know we were working on a female model?

ImageNow you do!

Functionally speaking, the female soldier will perform identically to the male soldier in every way, with the differences being purely aesthetic. She will have access to the exact same equipment, and in most cases the equipment models will be adjusted or redone to fit her body, much like in the case of games like Urban Terror. The major exception will probably be the battlesuit, which is a very bulky set of armor that will likely be identical for both soldiers, mainly for practical reasons and time constraints. In addition, we've had female voice chat commands ("vsays") in storage for a while now, and they will be ready for use when we release her in a future update. Before then, we'll need to find a source of voice acting for her so that we can have a full set of sounds.

The concept was done by Alex B. O'Dowd, and currently, the model is being worked on by Casey, who has finished the new granger for us. As work is done on her, you can expect to hear more news, including a shot of the in-progress model. In the meantime, perhaps we should think up a name for her and the male soldier?

hi there,

can't say much about that concept art. Doesn't look bad to me, screenshots of ingame models would be more important to have something to judge about.
But having an additional human model raises questions about the future menu structures. Will the female model be choosable from the start menu like human->rifle/construction kit .. or will it be selectable via options (preferences) so that you allways join humans either as female or male if you join a match?

But all in all nice to see that much activity on the modeling front lately. keep going ! :-)

Probably something you select via an option to make semi-permanent, like what Urban Terror does.

Just saying, vsays don't work with the bsuit. You should probably get this fixed before adding her character's vsays into the game.

That's a very manly looking woman. Just pointing that out.

As a clone trooper, she could care less.

I've been the one pushing for a more realistic, serious appearance. She's going to look like an actual soldier. Thus, don't expect cosmetics or overly revealing uniforms. She's here to fight, not to flirt.

I can see the lust in her eyes. I would say she is lusty a lesbian.

When the Unvanquished Cooperation™ heard of studies that male troopers fight better when their level of testosterone is raised by the presence of females in combat, they started cloning the world's toughest female soldiers. Plot twist: The result wasn't attracted to men and the frustrated males had to let off steam by participating in brutal granger hunts.
