The Repeater (or "Generator", depending on whether we will have it require an existing Reactor or not) is the little brother of the Reactor: While the latter provides power to the whole map and can only be built once, the Repeater is used whenever the human team wants to build many structures in one place. Just like the Reactor, it blows up in a huge fireball when destroyed.

Visually, we want it to pick up elements from the Reactor but be much smaller (less than ⅛ in volume). However, at the same time it should be significantly different from the similiarly sized Drill, which was also inspired by the Reactor design.

Here are some concepts originally made for the Reactor, but you can use them as inspiration for the Repeater:

The shape of the Repeater should be roughly like this (in fact this is a mockup made from a previous attempt) but more detail is encouraged:

Note that the animation should include some sort of arms rotating around the core.

I'm requesting a new concept now. If you want to model this before some is assigned to the concept, this would also be possible.

We will now have chris807 converting his old tesla model to the repeater. The design is almost identical to the leftmost image that we wanted it based off of. He will change the foot of the model, and if you have any other suggestions give them now.

Good idea, actually. Some feedback on the tesla repeater/generator:

  • The new stand shouldn't be remotely as massive. It should compare in stability to the similiarly sized drill/extractor.

  • The repeater should be relatively compact so you can build it in the cover of other structures. (It will be the weak spot of human forwards, dealing a lot of damage when it blows up.) Therefor, the rotating arms should be closer to the body.

  • Some glowing element similiar to the reactor core would be nice. I feel the ribbed cylinder coming out of the main body could be used for something like that. (It also could be animated to slide into the body when the repeater is about to explode, in addition to the wings stopping their rotation. I think this would be a pretty cool feedback for a strike this significant.)

Note that in the current gameplay the repeater technically works like a small reactor and doesn't depend on the latter to operate, so any form of resemblance to the reactor is appreciated.

I really like this design. Do the arms extend beyond the feet? If yes I'd move them a bit closer to the body so that they line up. Otherwise I don't see any problems with the general shape. Some small lamps would be nice so that we could have them pulsate consistently with the reactor's lamps/core.
