No, no, the drivers. That's the software that makes your hardware work. What hardware do you have? (Although if you're getting an error that your OpenGL version is too old, well, you might need new hardware, drivers aside.)
But don't you need money to update the drivers?
And what of the hardware did you need to know?
You definitely do not need to pay money to update graphics card drivers.

EDIT: I've got an ATY Radeon x1900. Not much, but like I said; haven't got the money,
