Map textures are higher res on new maps and some even have bump mapping.
There're dynamic shadows, a lot better particles and lighting as well.
Many new high quality animations have been added.

We're more then happy to receive feedback about our models or textures. If you can be more descriptive about what you don't like about the new models then that would be great.

Apparently there's [once again...] another trem division coming out... Well tremz's down, so i guess thats a total of +-0 competitions.

I'm fully aware of Tremulous 2, but they're a commercial project, and they seek to recreate pure Tremulous. We're noncommercial, and we seek to be a different game. Thus, we don't compete at all with them, since they're in a different niche.

True. He did say something like "users can buy maps" etc. etc. which sounds like TF2 in a way - free to play but costs...
&& Unanquished would be something totally different like how trem is to gloom

Yes, it does.
If you compare two identical objects, where one of the objects has better res and more tris, there's no question which object is of a better quality.

Gameplay quality. If you get less fps, then your quality went down. If you have lag issues with higher tris, your quality went down. If you get 1 fps with higher tris, you can't even play the game, and your quality went way down.
