Unvanquished cannot be and never will be on Steam until either:

We could do number two, but that'll take a long time. I don't think recoding is nessesary, but modifying beyond a spec of evidence, probably will do. I'm not sure if trem has any code from gloom, but it seems to me it doesn't.

Why would we want to completely re-write the game from scratch just so that we can be on Steam?

I agree. Steam isn't necessary for building a community. Although, a completely new engine would be cool but unnecessary I think the current engine is good enough. It would add an interesting twist in the 'gloom' legacy thing, NS's story has pretty cool and fun to follow through the years.

Apparently WarSaw managed to get on to greenlight.
I thought steam doesn't accept CC/GPL licenses

well...they allow free games like BLR. I would think they won't complain about Unvanquished being on...if ask me it should be trial and error...sooooo...try it and find out.
EDIT: wow i just did the same thing as Kynes. Oh well.

I say once its in beta we should try get in on green light. Really, it can only benefit the game and possibly bring in more players.

If they'll take us, sure. Only during beta, though.
