Does that mean shrink needs to be played before death?
there is an animation for both states. So you play death_shrunk if it was shrunk and death if it was unshrunk
re-export it with proper material names ("models/buildables/barricade/body" and "models/buildables/barricade/tentacles") and the model rotated by 90 degrees clockwise around the Z axis

Barricade is ingame and looks good to me.
