new release crashes on windows7

Post by Alex »

I had to upgrade to version 0.22 (Unvanquished-0.22-windowsx64-installer.exe)
but when I Launch the game It crashes with a message box:

daemon.exe has stopped working.

tried to uninstall, remove all registry keys that match "unvanquished" and try again, 32 bits installer and 64 bits, nothing works.

I'm running windows 7 64bits on intel/nvidia platform

is there any workaround?
thanks

You may be able to use the .debs for Ubuntu 12.04.

Debian and Ubuntu packages (squeeze, wheezy, sid; 12.04, 12.10, 13.04) may work on derivatives

OFFEND! … no, that's not right… ATTACK!

still crashing on the new release 0.22.1

everytime it crashes, an entry in the event viewer appears:

I've tried updating nvidia drivers, then at the nv control panel: disabled threaded optimization, set single display performance, and disabling/changing most settings to performance or "off"... and still crashes.

Also tried windows xp compatibility mode, run as administrator, and nothing changes.

the only way it doesn't crash, is to "run in 256 colors" and then instead of crashing it reports "GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL sybsystem: Missing GL version. (obviously.. its 256 colors).

nah, dont worry, ill wait for future releases.

I've noticed that in recent releases, daemonmap is not included.

Next year I will have finished my very first ultra mega noob map, and I would like to create a navigation mesh for that map.

Pls guys, dont forget to add some tool that allows us to create navmeshes so we can play/test our own maps.

Happy holidays to all.
