Horrible rendering issue

Im new to unvanquished. I have been playing xonotic (nexuiz) for a long time but haven't had this issue before.

When i load the game, it loads up fine and i can enter a server, but everything is okay untill i actualy move. This is when everthing starts to copy itself and freeze. Movement is smooth and that is okay, but the actualy images either:
a)keep doubling, because every time i move they copy and i see a million of the same thing
b)certain areas dont render, like an entire floor flashes white when i move on it, sometimes i see it, sometimes i dont.

any tips?

Hi singular9! :)

I'm not a dev, but it seems to be a good thing to ask:
a) what system do you use?
b) what graphic card do you have?
c) what drivers do you use?
Is it the only game you had problems with, or did it occur also in any other game? Maybe tweeking with the options will give some good results?
Also maybe some errors occur, when you press ~ after joined the server?

Windows 7 64bit
Quad core 3.0ghz phenom 2
Radeon HD 5570
4gb ram

I've ran much much heavier games before so its not my system for sure. Quake 3 and 4 run fine too.

I tried recompiling the textures or whatever it said on the wiki page. No good. Everything is fine till I move, I'll post screenshots later when I'm at my PC.

Have a look at this issue. It seems to be a catalyst (graphics driver) bug that was worked around in our code. The issue thread has a replacement binary, too.

Hi,

I am a newbie with this game :)

I have a similar issue with a Samsung laptop under ubuntu 14.04 64 bits up to date, a Quad core A10 with AMD RADEON 7600M and 7660G, Catalyst 13.35.1005 from AMD from fglrx-updates and

glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"
direct rendering: Yes

When the game start rendering is totally buggy and it is not possible to play.
I use PPA to install update...

Could you help ?

Hi Pyjnet :)

Until the mighty devs will answer under your post, could you try if this works:
go to Graphics->Lighting and particles-> here change "Lighting system" into "Vertex".
My friend got the same problem on windows, with an ati card. Before we noticed that there was the patched .exe, this workaround worked fine.

Same way of Vinus,

I've Radeon7600M. (hp pavilon G7)

I must do -> Graphics->Lighting and particles
change "Lighting system" into "Vertex".(~ 60fps)

resolved with replacement binary (daemon.exe) more fps too . (~ 100fps lighting system normal)
