Mac: No HUD, and control problems

Post by JOURNEYMAN »

On Mac version:

As a human, I can only go backwards, automatically. Pressing forward only stops in place. If I let go of forward button, I'm going backwards.

As an alien, I can't jump and can't attack at all.

All of the above happens after some minutes into the game. I don't know what triggers them.

Plus, there is no HUD.

When it gets stuck doing some action continuously, you can usually stop it by typing a command of the form /- (something).
For example, to stop walking backwards, type /-back .

I think using scroll causes the problems. I had it bound to dodge and didn't bother to change it when the dodge was removed.

Edit: Never mind. The scrolls are not bound to anything yet for some reason when I use the scroll out of habit, the problem occurs.

However, that does not explain the inability to jump or attack as an alien.

I solved the problem of auto backward by binding the scroll to "+attack". Interestingly, using the scroll does not fire the weapon.
