Auto Stage Up

Is it possible to have automatic stage ups every 5 to 10 minutes on the server? Just for the alpha releases. There is hardly anyone around and it would be nice to test advanced classes/weapons/structures and see how they work. May be the feature can be turned off when there are more than one person playing. :cool:

1) Run the game
2) Open the console
3) Type "/devmap atcs" and wait until the game has finished loading
4) Type in the console "/g_alienstage 2"
5) Type in the console "/g_humanstage 2"
Now both teams are stage 3 (yes, stage 3, not 2). If you want some funds (credits/evos), spawn and type in console "/give funds X" where X is the amount of evos/credits.

speaking of which
is it possible to temporarily put bots on the official server?
this might encourage people to join who otherwise wouldn't because the server is empty
also, this would give you some stats about bots and where they might need improvement

I can put bots on the main servers. I'll set up a script for that within the next few days.

I think he meant a normal game with a timer. to auto-level up. You dont even need sv_cheats/devmap to do g_[team]stage 2.

I'd like to point out that I've compiled navmeshes for all of the default maps included with Unvanquished. You can download them here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/unvanqu ... 3/download

Stick the pk3 into your Unvanquished directory. Of course, they will only work if you've compiled the bots branch. Please notify me promptly if you notice any weird behavior. It seems that the navmeshes aren't working properly on ATCS and Nexus6 at the moment, but they work fine on every other map I've tested. I'll be recompiling the navmeshes for any map that doesn't work properly, and then I'll update the file on SourceForge.

He meant "to test advanced classes/weapons/structures and see how they work". Alone. Why wait until dev changes things if you can run the server yourself with both teams at highest stage? Not sure what you mean in the second sentence, only server operators (console) can change value of g
[team]stage so it has any effect, and since /devmap runs a server locally...

But I dig the idea of putting bots on the official servers
