The Unvanquished website is nice, I have to give it that. But given a bit of poking around, I didn't find anything for convenient real-time communication except a few things referencing the IRC chat on Freenode. My suggestion would be to embed some sort of Web IRC Client (qwebirc?) into a page on the website linked to via a tab on the front page, so as to provide a quick way to access the Unvanquished IRC. Perhaps someone else could come up with a better solution, or perhaps it is a non-issue.

Oh, you mean like a shoutbox that's connected to the IRC channel? <3
It'd be nice to also have recent stats on the masterlist as well, because I simply cbf typing 'master.unvanquished.de' to see the masterlist outside of the client and apelsin.

Re: Web Site Improvement Suggestion
Yes and no.
I wanted on the actual forum in a smaller condense version, with a 'pull down' (whatever you call it) link that expands it similarly to what master.trem.net. Basically what master.trem.net used to look like, but condense into a small corner of the forum index page.
Some old 1.1 sites showed their server(s) with name and player count and that's it.
I think that's sufficent, while clicking on the server connects the client to it while clicking on the player count would probably lead the user to a more detailed stats page or something...
Also if possible, have a link in the server statistics to see live chat and be able to talk to in-game clients via the forum without having to enter the game, similarly to #Fserver on FreenodeIRC. Sixthly's already done a great job with his site's interface, but it's not quite a tty-client, it's a one-way receiver with scoreboard, chat/'console', banlist, and adminlist. I don't think the last two are really needed, they could just go on the stats page.
Btw, aussie assault does have stats (but they're more adapted to the 1.1 server, so a lot of stuff needs working on, sadly sixthly's been 'busy'/occupied with something else lately and hardly touches his site:

Re: Web Site Improvement Suggestion
About the website, especially the forum registration, maybe the domain isn't set somewhere
but register mail confirmation don't have a nice looking link
it's : /index.php?option=com_users&task=registration.activate&token=6a3c566830bf53fb93806a228b33b8a1
& should look more like http://unvanquisehd/like index.php?option=com_users&task=registration.activate&token=6a3c566830bf53fb93806a228b33b8a1
