It would be good to have one or more official representatives on Unvanquished at the meeting.

Good news!

We have created a small site to post ideas that will be discussed during the meeting.
If you have any idea on how the Unvanquished/Tremulous communities can improve, how to attract new players, how to encourage players to stay, how to improve the sense of community, etc. please post them in the site linked below:

Hey Sparky,

At the moment a lot of our comms have been disjointed. Hopefully we can sort some things out.

Keep in mind a lot of us here have a 'move on' attitude regarding Trem and Unvanq. There's nothing inherently right or wrong about this, but just keep in mind we've developed an automatic reaction to people bringing up topics about anything Tremulous. Judging by your message you are eager to keep Trem and its mods alive, so be wary of clashes of opinion that might arise :)

I believe the meeting was very productive for its intended purpose. There were a lot of interesting ideas presented, and the main thing is that dialogue has been initiated between the communities. Unv, gpp, and 1.1 has been isolated from each other for so long, of course initial interactions are not going reconcile all of our differences.

A lot of the ideas may not be practical, or possible, or preferable, but they are starting points for an ongoing conversation. I am posting here the complete log of the meeting (Thank you again for providing the copy of the log Ishq :) ). Some time over the next few days, I hope to go through the log in detail and post a summary of the ideas brought up at the meeting on this thread (irl responsibilities can get in the way of gaming responsibilities sometimes ;) ), but in the mean time the logs can be reviewed by others, and the people who were unable to attend the meeting can continue the conversation on this thread.

This meeting was more about generating ideas and questions, and see where we currently are, rather than immediately concluding any solutions. The first step in solving a problem is identifying and understanding the problem. In regards to this first step, this first meeting has made a lot of progress.

There are some things our communities can work together on that is beneficial to us all without needing radical sacrifices, and I think we should start from there on the common ground. A future where 1.1, gpp, and Unv communities fit together will be very different from the current visions each of those communities have centred from their own perspectives that does not factor in the needs and concerns of the other communities, and how the communities can interrelate. All of our visions require a lot of review and adjustments to accommodate, in a united effort, the long term important needs and wishes of each of the 3 current communities simultaneously.

Your input on the conversation is very much appreciated Veyrdite, thank you for your participation :) . What is most important to me in regards to these "unification efforts" is to keep the community and spirit of trem that I love alive, thriving, and growing. Unvanquished does offer a potential future for the Tremulous communities, and Tremulous doesn't need to be copied within Unvanquished for that to occur. All three communities would tremendously benefit from becoming a common community. However, Unvanquished and the trem communities do need to evolve (pun intended ;) ) and we need to maintain open communications and initiate collaborations in order to have a common future. If the trem communities were to migrate to Unvanquished, there would also have to be a transition, during which the actual Tremulous games and mods would still play a role
