What comes after x86 and ARM will have proprietary instruction sets only available to employees of big corporations who need assembler to protect the users from hackers. Assembler already has only 2 types of users: experts who work in big corporations to develop compilers and JIT interpreters and hacker criminals who use the knowledge to commit crime. It's only natural that this knowledge is going proprietary.
Assembler will be banned, C and C++ are next.

But lamefun, don't game developers often use assembler to optimize their lowest-level routines? Surely the likes of EA, Activision, and Valve won't allow that to happen. Large gaming companies have a little more clout than one might expect. Even though some people might hate large game companies (for various reasons), large game companies voice concerns about things like that of which you speak, allowing us to continue using our ASM, amongst other things.
