We do not have any use for outside money. If we do not have any use for it, we are not going to take it.

  • servers
  • it would not help to have more full time people?
  • or get (more?) expert artists and coders that expect some funds for their work
  • or someone to do the less fun stuff like track down bugs or take care of nice linux installer that you abandoned because no time for such less important stuff

We pay for our own servers. Our developers are all volunteers, we do not pay anyone and we do not want to pay for new people.

Go to tremulous.net and click "donate" if you're really that keen. The money there goes to keeping trem.net and its masterlist up I think.

Yes. I was just really curious as to Unva team stand on this.

Everyone needs money (or other value/goods) if not for yourself (food, home, car) then for your parents, kids, or just donate it to what you think is a good cause.

Also will Unva have thousands of regular players (be popular)? Without any PR budget? I guess this could be possible like with orginal trem but then again trem is still a good game and yet it is irrelevant (1-2 servers, 5-30 players world wide - GPP, bit more on 1.1?)

The real question is, do we really want a large player base in an alpha? (Consider that the gameplay will most likely be changed a lot by the time we hit beta)

A large player base can help decide what the community wants, it allows for more player input on how to make things better, etc.

But anyway, money is for people who can't lie, cheat, and steal their way to the top.
