bind a "+moveleft; +sprint" works for me. Try typing "/bind a"to make sure there isn't any team-specific bind overriding it. Protip: enable cg_drawspeed to tell whether it is actually working. I didn't think sprinting sideways was a thing, but it actually is...I'll have to add a...

When it gets stuck doing some action continuously, you can usually stop it by typing a command of the form /- (something).
For example, to stop walking backwards, type /-back .

Yes, the current release (alpha 22) has terrible fps on Windows. The previous version was fine, so perhaps it will be back to normal in the next release (beginning of January).
