I don't know why you'd think this is ridiculous, it's really more of evolutionary than revolutionary change. i like the idea of nodes becoming teleporters and choosing where to spawn/teleport using the minimap. aliens by definition have a lot more mobility than humans, and can typically transverse maps a lot quicker... Invisibility cloak - Would invisible aliens actually become visible when a human with radar is nearby or would they just show up on radar? It could be annoying when hunting that last alien if they still stay invisible. They would only show up on radar, but the person with the radar could just shoot...
