Re: How to make people stay and met together?

Where are they? Playing other games because Unvanquished does not provide a playable game, obviously. How to keep them? How makes them meeting together? How to make them enjoying the game as it was designed for: playing with and against real people? In the short term: Add an immediately visible sch...

Microsoft used to be like mice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfoV1RU1RRs Microsoft used to know what's good as well... Microsoft has made Windows XP - the best operating system. Its default theme (Luna) deserves a special mention: it's the absolute pinnacle of theming. No operating system ever since managed to outdo Luna, not ...

Was the training server code removed?

Proposal: bring back the Golden Age!

This is probably what did Unvanquished in: developer burnout. Years of fruitless work on a game which nobody plays. And due to lack of players there was nobody to replace them. I now know exactly what thought that was put into the developers' minds via space rays . Let's finish the game up first and...

Rest in peace, Unvanquished.

The the activity in the "Assets & Artwork" forum has apparently ceased.

Git commits are few and far between.

Minimal viable gameplay was not implemented.

I must conclude that this is the end.

R.I.P.

NASA and dead links

First ever photo of the Earth... or not!

It's clear as day: if even NASA cannot avoid dead links, people can not be trusted making websites.

Re: Please don't die

I don't think that the developers only work on the code, I was simply refuting ViruS's point. Also, the developers definitely have some "pen and paper", since they've added many gameplay features (eg. new stage system, new buildables, human parkour), however, the grave problems (floor head...

Re: Please don't die

It's definitely more important to have great or at least passable gameplay than to have great code. If the game dies, there's a greater chance of revival of the game itself (if the game has bad gameplay and great code, its engine code is likely to be abandoned or maybe used to create something else ...

Reconnaisance mode: Unvanquished of Isaac!

Basically an evolution of the training server of old. I think a training server is direly needed for: Famliarization with maps (so people don't end up playing only atcs and plat23). Familiarization with advanced evolved alien forms (see this thread , and yes, I've seen complete FPS beginners start w...

Stallman is wrong + crazy ideas

As much as he talks about how free software and open-source are different things, his definition of free software really is identical to the definition of open-source. I mean, yes, he wants open-source software to replace all proprietary software, but still, there's more to software freedom than jus...
