Re: The game won't start.

though I think if you hang around for long enough on a server someone may join you as the irc channel is pinged when there are people online. Yes, it works! By the way, you must know the irc bot ignores spectators, so if you are connected to a server, the irc channel will be pinged only if you have...

Re: My dreams for netradiant/q3map2/what you want.

Just a notice, having an asset toolchain capable of working with gitable source pk3dirs all the way down and capable of building any asset to the best format (texture and sound compression, map compilation, minimap and navmesh generation, etc.) is my own unofficial target for beta. Unvanquished must...

Re: The game won't start.

Hello, welcome ! I don't know yet what is your problem, but you really don't need to run it as administrator and please do not do it, it's bad for you to run as administrator something you just found on the Internet. Try first to run the game as user, and if it does not work, do not try to run it as...

Re: How does this game looks so beautiful!?

To answer to that: I have noticed that their gamma is lower than mine usually and the main difference between the screenshots and what I get is usually the dynamic lighting/lighting effects. I don't know for the gamma, but yes, I've seen kharnov making a special effort to do screenshot with realtime...

Re: How does this game looks so beautiful!?

BTW, I'm also a photographer IRL so I'm trained to get the right angle, the right point of view, and the right framing to get the better a scene can do, distilling the better from the curves of the objects in the scene, the colors and the lighting. Badly, you can't do with video what I do with still...

Re: My dreams for netradiant/q3map2/what you want.

About (real time) lighting and textures, I have the idea of another kind of texture, there is already diffuses, normal, glow etc. We need some « do not shadow » textures. I mean, since shadow are cast over surfacelights (or just textures that looks like a lamp) , we need one mask to force the real t...

Re: gunplay: recoil + aim-down-sights + spread

Hey, Sorry to haven't get the time to read that thread before. I just want to say first that work is awesome. By the way, I don't know yet if it's what I want for Unvanquished, but I want a game with that. I really like iron sight mechanism, that's why I like playing True Combat for exampl...

My dreams for netradiant/q3map2/what you want.

This my ideas to avoid the more frustration while mapping for dæmon based games. Dæmon is an open source engine, so Unvanquished is not only a game, it's also fun stuff to hack with. So, we must offer a nice mapping experience to see people having fun to hack with the dæmon engine and Unvanquished. ...

Re: Why we need a real raytracer for lightmaps rendering

Just one thing to add to the "lightmapping with an external raytracer" dream, it must not be forgotten that any new raytracer must render both the lightmap and the lightgrid. That's one of the two issues of anthill in unvanquished (a tremulous map baked with blender by Seeeker), it does no...
