Re: Here's Alpha 20!
The unvanquished .debs depend on libsdl2-2.0-0 where available, libsdl1.2debian otherwise. At present, SDL 2 is, regarding Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives, so far as I'm aware, only found in Debian testing and unstable and Ubuntu 13.10; it seems likely that you'll be using 1.2.

Here's our twentieth alpha release! Read on for what's new… Stages? Who needs stages? We've removed stages! In their place, upgrades, weapons and alien forms have unlock thresholds; the current state is shown in a bar along the lower edge of the game window, with markers indicating unlock (or re-lock...

Re: Unvanquished Gameplay Pet Peeves
Yes – we should try increasing buildings' health by between 25% and 50%, maybe also faster repair (rate should, at least, be increased so repair takes, on average, no more time than at present). Builder defence is the other main problem that I've seen – this often needs either campers or better base...

The inventory could be a list of all equipment and/or classes… You have the item – shown as is currently. Item is unlocked (but you don't have it) – greyed out. Item is locked – add a padlock symbol (even if you currently have it). Item is incompatible with what you currently have – add ✗ or ⚠. (Ite...

We also now have /listgeoip. Mostly, it's admin who have access to this, though.

Re: geoiplookup command
Part of what's needed is now implemented and is active on the dev server – you'll normally see connecting players shown as “player connected from country”.

Re: New forum!
I've just had a look – it requires alteration of the installed files, which conflicts with being able to install updates. It looks like it only makes minor changes in includes/message_parser.php - Would it be possible to just patch this one file, and then keep a backup copy to overwrite it if any u...
