Re: Ammo packs and ammo/poison share
Ammo pack idea is good, I think. Sharing ammunition could be interesting. We could have conversions between different energy weapons, e.g. 50 lasgun shots = 10 luci units = 1 pulse/mdriver clip; not sure that this is practical between rifle and chaingun, though. Sharing poison: time remaining would ...

Re: Unvanquish-Tremulous capability
I think the idea was to have a gpp (with tweaks) mode and a classic (1.1) mode (gameplaytype) within Unvanquished. Both are doable. GPP should work as is now; 1.1 would require some work. If you want to put some time in on doing a 1.1ish mode, fine. (But I wouldn't do that just yet anyway, since th...

Re: Unvanquish-Tremulous capability
So's the VM code, and there's more incompatibility on the way.

Re: low fps when holding ckit
That would be the range markers. Have a look in the options menu (in-game) and switch off the line drawing – you'll still see a drop where range markers are drawn, but only a small fraction of what you see with the lines. Alternatively, type these two commands into console or chat: /seta cg_rangeMar...

Re: Alpha 0.3.5 problems
The dretch problem has been fixed. I don't know about your multiple-restarts problem; but I do know that there is a double initialisation on first start (/vid_restart) which seems to be platform-independent. Controls menu seems fine here. Do you have anything installed (other than the pak?.pk3 files...

Re: Evolution UI
Nice. Interesting design but a lot of players will rarely see it. We have equipment binds and evolve binds… that said, for the players who don't (yet) have these, some improvements over what we have should be made anyway.

Re: What if..?
What if you couldn't build eggs off the creep, but we brought the hovel back and it was used similarly to the human repeater? What if the hovel in the above idea functioned as a bunker for smaller aliens, including the dretch and basilisk? What if the marauder zap had to be charged up like a dragoo...

Re: What if..?
[…] [3]I think it [the "missiles"] should be able to hit multiple objects once with losing half the damage as it hits another thing, as well with a 'quadratic damage curve' because objects very close to the flame thrower won't really get hurt much. I'm also thinking about the idea of havi...

Re: alien claws, teeth and tentacles
Whereas I don't like the abdomen part of the new dretch texture. The old texture, recoloured to match, should look better; I'd ridge it in an exoskeletal kind of way (somewhat ant-like). Alternatively, band the ‘guts’ so that they're more stripe-like. The rest of the dretch texturing etc. is fine. I...

Re: Unvanquished icons
Well… we have an icon anyway (debian/unvanquished.png is one instance of it) and, so far as I know, we're sticking with it. The likes of the GIMP will work with Windows .ico files and can export bitmaps as C source code so we're covered for where plain .pngs won't do. Maybe somebody'll use at leat t...
