I'm not sure you understand how open source works. For a very nice explanation, check out The Catheral and the Bazaar . I am familiar with open source and especially with opensource gaming where the best we can do is xonotic or a supertux cart --- both fun games... I am talking about getting season...

maybe the arena designs could coincide with the linear level design of the survival. I don't see this bringing that much more work for the devs...this is just a one sided ctf game on a larger -possibly branched- level with tonnes of ai bot in the mix...I guess the hardest part would be designing the...

I voted no since this would require a lot of effort for a marginally useful gameplay mode. Don't get me wrong I'm sure it would be fun for a few games but since you are playing against bots there is no competition element. I suspect many people would go back to the multiplayer mode after a few roun...

I have played many idtech/quake/arena shooters but I frequent urban terror and even though it is fast it isn't as frenetic as this game...but I will follow this project and see how it goes

crowdsource funds and offer bounties to artist/developers for completing objectives. example, if a weapon needs to be redone and have multiple sizes available, put the bounty up let multiple artists submit and choose the best work, creates competition and creates incentives for people to do a good j...

this is a bit mainstream but this could easily switch to horror, what if the aliens infected the crew with a virus like rabies and they all went mad, this could be in a darker map with. a coop game mode humans against a sea of bots and they try to get from point a to b. example objectives: the ship crash lands 100 miles from base camp because it is over run by aliens leave the barracks(or its spaceship counterpart) and go to the armory to pick up better weapons then go to the engin...
