Game Won't Launch

Hi,

I downloaded the Windows installer and went through the standard installation procedure. After that, I tried to launch the game but it crashes. The console works. It shows "Initializing Sound", "Allocated 96 sources" as the last messages that appear prior to the crash. I see a window pop up next to the console and then it crashes. I've tried the normal launch and "vanilla renderer".

My system specs:

Windows 7 64-bit
8 GB RAM
Phenom II X6
ATI FireGL V7700 w/512 MB RAM

Run the game with +set s_useOpenAL 0

Thanks. That let me launch and play a game. The program crashes, though, if I choose "Options" from the main menu.
