Yes, like this. I think you can start detailing.

This is detailed version of the leech. You can download the ZTL for Zbrush 4R6 from https://www.dropbox.com/s/rt8c6zx23z14z ... mesh_1.rar if needed.

Just wait for Viech to get on, he'll give you the final approval. Looks good to me, though.

Poisonous spores, anybody?

Debian and Ubuntu packages (squeeze, wheezy, sid; 12.04, 12.10, 13.04) may work on derivatives

If possible I'd like to see some more depth on the vines that form the stem, those on the outside look a bit flat (and make the whole stem look cylindrical). Feel free to use some rough geometry on the low poly for the outmost layer(s) of vines, the stem doesn't need to get all of its details from the normal map.

If you're working on the stem don't be afraid of making it look stronger than on real world mushrooms: The leech can be built on walls (and ceilings) and it should be credible that it defies gravity. Your current stem looks fine, I'm just saying this in case your attempt to make it look less cylindrical would include making it less sturdy.

Apart from that, it's ready to be textured, good job so far!

This is what I ended up with. The base mesh is 8.498 polygons. Tried rendering it VRAY SSS using diffuse, sub-scatter map, specular and normal map in Maya.
