There was a vid of these by Stannum on youtube, but it seems it's gone now. Anyway, I believe the main difference between these and Stannum's is that the second were only appearing while attacking, not just walking and such. TremZ's ones look really, really weird.

Well, maybe you're right and claws should be visible only while attacking... Btw, Asvarox, that vid is even more awesome :)

So, have i convinced anybody that we NEED this feature? :)

I agree with Qrntz on how it looks distracting. But for a lot of people the human weapons can be as well, and it is made optional. If you can get it looking good and not very distracting, all the more reason to do it, but in any case you'll want it optional. I don't know my shit, but I'd assume that if you implemented in as simple a way as possible, it would be command oriented through cg_drawgun? Not sure, but it would be just a small plus if it was drawn through a separate command.

Anyways, make sure you either switch up the animations for the aliens or just make sure you adapt this stuff to the current attacks, although I think the latter would be a pain in the ass since only two aliens use their claws. Dretch, granger, mara, and dragoon never use them to fight. Don't see how you'd do biting.

EDIT: Visible only on attack isn't an awful idea. As I said, having options would be the best way to do it.

You could have the four teeth come into the screen for the dretch bite.
For the Dragoon you could show the arms while pouncing.

A other way of showing your attacks is by a 2d representation, like in KorX:

We're going to have it. You will be able to toggle it. Furthermore, you will be able to have animated claws instead of static claws.
