Unvanquished minecraft psyschedelic edition

Post by illwieckz »

Discovering Unity did some enhancements (???) to the crunch tool we use, I compiled their “enhanced” code and run it on our textures…

Well, it was pretty bad!

Just watching the preview in your file browser you notice something is bad:

At first look it makes Unvanquished looking a bit like Minecraft:

And worst than that, textures rendering changes with distance, so in fact everything is waving while you move:

but then I discovered every time new a map is loaded (or the same map loaded and loaded again), things go worst… The textures are not only transformed to pure garbage, they also seems to corrupt something in game engine or in video driver I don't know:

Good we got rid of the tryhard graphics, now we're finally an indie game.

Responsible for: Arch Linux package & torrent distribution, Parpax (map), Chameleon (map texture editor), Sloth (material file generator), gameplay design & programming, artistic direction
