Re: Quick ideas and small suggestions

Every buildables including alien ones repair themselves alone. Humans have just the advantage to speed-up this repairing, on the other hand aliens can't recover health (and sometime heal together) without returning their base. So, both team have some unfair advantage over the other one.

Re: Alien Bot

I find that humans bots repairs their base, add new structures and most notably I find they move their base in a more secure area , like true live players should do  For the underlined part, it' was a true live player since bots don't do that. The aliens have a strong advantage in not havi...

Re: Humans are way OP

I forgot to reply that other thread at this time, but that guy just saw a real player and mistakenly believed it was a bot: from the linked thread: I find that humans bots repairs their base, add new structures and most notably I find they move their base in a more secure area , like true live playe...

“Microsoft uses Linux, they know what's good”

It looks like they're trying to take back PRO from PROprietary to keep it safe

Smokin' Guns on Dæmon, the project

Hi, do you remember when I posted screenshots of maps from other games rendered on Dæmon , including Smokin’ Guns? The forum thread title was “ How look other games on the Daemon engine? ”, well, it looks like it's gonna be a thing for Smokin’ Guns! Tequila just posted a news on the Smokin' Guns web...

Re: Why we need a real raytracer for lightmaps rendering

Speaking about AMD OpenCL renderers, Unity managed to pipe AMD Rays into their tookchain to render their lightmaps: https://blogs.unity3d.com/2018/03/29/amd-radeon-rays-integrated-into-unitys-gpu-progressive-lightmapper/ PDF from GDC2017 presentation (Radeon ProRender And Radeon Rays In A Gaming Ren...

Re: New package format for upcoming 0.51.0 release (bye bye pk3)

For packages built from not-tagged commits the Urcheon tool produces version string using the <tagged-version-number>[+<commit-date>+<commit-id->][-dirty]] scheme. For example, currently unrelease for-0.51.0 unvanquished package is named that way: unvanquished_0.50.0+20181005-224154+4045967.dpk If t...

Re: Why we need a real raytracer for lightmaps rendering

We have a very big issue. The bsp stage of q3map2 is very slow because of meta computation. For example with chasm map the whole compilation including 8 bounces last 16min on my computer, but the bsp stage itself lasts more than 6min. So, the point of computing lightmaps from bsp with a faster rende...
