Hmm, I have a feeling you have some weird PK3s lying around. I got this on one of my test systems and deleting any misc asset pk3s seemed to fix the issue. Make sure you have the latest asset paks from sourceforge.

We're definitely going to overhaul the UI in Unvanquished. Those concepts are good ideas, we'll see what we can do with those.

Also, parallax mapping is somewhat expensive. I tried to parallax map for the floor for atcshd. Maybe I did it wrong, but the effect was quite profound and cut my FPS in half.

Right. We were just testing whether all the textures, normalmaps, specularmaps, and glowmaps worked properly. Once it is fully animated, we'll make sure it is perfect.
